The Bass Drum is the largest drum on the kit and makes the low pitched 'thump'. There are 3 types of Bass drums:

1. Concert bass drum(top left image)
2. 'Kick' Drum(center image)
3. Pitched Bass drum(top right image)

The Concert bass drum is usually played in orchestras, it is usually played with two mallets and the aveage size is 36".
